Well...last night when I got down to the theatre almost immediatly Elicia knew I was upset and she was, and I said one thing to tip her off while we were backstage and she said, "you know what, we need to talk, you me, outside NOW"
OKAY....CRAP...I really don't wanna talk right now.... and that is what I said, then Elicia informed me that apparently I was rude to Mike because he said thanks for the cookies that I made and since I did not hear it in a crowded group of people from across the parking lot when I left the night before I was at fault...okay, I take the blame, my bad. I went inside and apologized, Mike didn't seem to care much...he just hugged me a said we're all stressed and emotions are running high... then I went and found Elicia and we went outside and talked...
After I spilled all the theatre crap she undestood and whatever, etc, etc, hug-n-make-up we were fine.... She's really good about talking things out and that sort of thing which helps me... I have problems coming out and telling people what I think which Elicia said she was my guinea pig just do it to her. That's E....
We went inside...still irritated, but not with each other, but at the Stupid, SOB, Mo-Fo...God da.... (well, you get the idea) director...
Remember I told you cut decided to cut all the stuff? Well, he decided last night to add some back... OMG....he is SOOO lucky the prop gun we have is not really loaded... we do, however, have a whip...
Boy Wonder, (Austin, the directors son) and the Director Dennis, apparently made changes to the light and sound boards because when we ran the show several sound cues did not go or were the wrong sound and some of the light cues were out of whack....
If it were not for reputation I KNOW Elicia would be gone, (when I told her I had thought about leaving she told me she thought about it too, and would have except for her rep...and I thought the same in building mine, it's good so far)
Last night Elicia and I went off head set to make room for some props and the costumer Nancy came and talked to us...she asked if the director was on headset and we both laughed and said "Thank God No, we talk so much crap about him we'd probably be fired..." I looked up at E and said, OMG! Can we get him one!?!? Lol, they thought that was great... haha, but the joke is, (since we're not being paid) "What ARE you gonna do, FIRE me?" Good point...Techie's are a lot harder to replace than actors....
So, after the rehearsal last night the cast came out and the director said "Sorry for all the technical difficulties"
I think E would have decked him if he was standing next to her...all the technical difficulties were HIS fault! If he'd stop changing things they would stop going wrong!
USUALLY by this time in the play we're having FUN and making minor tweaks and adjustments.... Nope, not here, where still re-blocking and adding things...
I was talking with some of the actors and I commented that he is from out of town, but he's moving to Visalia...and that since its such a large cast and close knit theatre, he'd NEVER find anyone in Visalia, or at least Ice House to work with or for him EVER. And they agreed 100%
Since all the 'problems' occured Mike, Elicia, LeAnn(sound tech) and I all have to be at the theatre at 5:30pm to fix things...
Anyway, I am gonna go have lunch and making my opening night cookies for my techies...
Oatmeal raisen and Oatmeal chocolate chip....
